The subscription rate is 0.55% of salary for CSIRO staff. Membership is fully tax deductible and is transferred as part of your fortnightly pay with your CSIRO payslip showing the transferred amount as described below.
Associate Membership for students and retired members of CSIRO, NMI or AAO
If you are retired or a student and would like to become an associate member of the CSIRO Staff Association please complete the following form and return it by post, fax or email using the details above.
Application for Membership
The membership form directs CSIRO to deduct from your salary an amount equivalent to your fortnightly union dues and pay it to either Members & Education Credit Union (MECU) or Laboratories Credit Union (LCU). It then directs the relevant credit union to pay this amount to the CSIRO Staff Association. Please note - the Subscription Deduction Facility is about MECU or LCU collecting an authorised deduction from your salary and paying this to the union. It does not give the CSIRO Staff Association access to your salary or your Credit Union accounts.
Subscriptions can also be paid directly to the Association on an annual basis, payable in advance on receipt of our invoice. Please contact the Association office csstaff@cpsu.org.au to arrange this.
Retired and Student membership
Former CSIRO staff can become retired members for $25 per annum. Students can join for $10 per year or $25 for three years. For an application for Student or Retired membership, please email csstaff@cpsu.org.au.
Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO) membership
AAO Staff can get a membership form by emailing csstaff@cpsu.org.au.
