Association Council and CPSU national positions

The CSIRO Staff Association is a Section of the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU). Elections are held for all our national office bearers every three years and nominations are now open.

The CSIRO Staff Association Section Council is the committee of management and peak decision making body of the Association. The Section is organised into eight subsections, to ensure fair regional representation with a Councillor representing each subsection. The Council is made up of the Executive and the Section Councillors.

Full financial members of the Association as are eligible to nominate for the following:

Section Executive positions

·               Association (Section) President

·               Association (Section) Deputy President (2 positions)

·               Association (Section) Secretary (salaried position)

·               Association (Section) Treasurer

·               CPSU Governing Councillor (represents the Association on the CPSU Governing Council)

Section (Association) Councillor positions

·               ACT Councillor

·               NSW Councillor

·               Northern Australia Councillor (represents NT and North QLD)

·               QLD Councillor (not including North QLD)

·               SA Councillor

·               TAS Councillor

·               VIC Councillor

·               WA Councillor

Financial members of the Section are also eligible to nominate for the following national CPSU (PSU Group) positions, individually or as a team:

·               National Secretary CPSU

·               Assistant National Secretary CPSU

·               National President CPSU

·               Deputy National Presidents CPSU (2 positions)

·               Deputy Secretary CPSU (2 positions)

Elections are being conducted through the Australian Electoral Commission. All financial full members of the CSIRO Staff Association are eligible to nominate.

Nominations are open until 12:00 Noon (AEST) Wednesday 24 September 2008 and should be lodged with the Australian Electoral Commission (website).
